१५६. भगवन् ! सिद्ध अवस्था प्राप्त होते हुए जीव किस संस्थान में सिद्ध होते हैं ?
गौतम ! छह संस्थानों में से किसी भी संस्थान से सिद्ध हो सकते हैं। ____156. Bhante ! In which body structure (samsthan) do the beings a destined to be Siddhas (perfected beings) attain perfection ?
Gautam ! They attain perfection in any of the six kinds of body Pastructures (samsthan). 9. १५७. जीवा णं भंते ! सिज्झमाणा कयरंमि उच्चत्ते सिझंति ?
गोयमा ! जहण्णेणं सत्तरयणीए, उक्कोसेणं पंचधणुसइए सिझंति। __ १५७. भगवन् : सिद्धगति प्राप्त होते हुए जीव कितनी अवगाहना-ऊँचाई में सिद्ध होते हैं ?
गौतम ! कम से कम सात हाथ तथा अधिक से अधिक पाँच सौ धनुष (४ हाथ का एक * धनुष) की अवगाहना में सिद्ध होते हैं।
157: Bhante ! In what space-occupation or height (avagahana) of the body do the beings destined to be Siddha (perfected beings) attain perfection ?
Gautam ! They attain perfection in a minimum body height of seven cubits and a maximum of five hundred Dhanush (one Dhanush being four cubits).
विवेचन-सूत्र में सिद्ध अवस्था प्राप्त होने वाले जीवों की जो अवगाहना बताई है, वह तीर्थंकरों की 8 अपेक्षा से समझना चाहिए। जैसे कि भगवान महावीर जघन्य सात हाथ की और भगवान ऋषभ उत्कृष्ट 9 पाँच सौ धनुष की अवगाहना से सिद्ध हुए। सामान्य केवलियों की अपेक्षा यह कथन नहीं है। क्योंकि ॐ कूर्मापुत्र दो हाथ की अवगाहना से सिद्ध हुए, मरुदेवी माता की अवगाहना पाँच सौ धनुष से अधिक थी।
Elaboration—The avagahana or body height of the beings destined to be Siddha mentioned in this aphorism is in context of Tirthankars. The minimum body height of seven cubits refers to the height of Bhagavan Mahavir and the maximum of five hundred Dhanush refers to that of Bhagavan Rishabhadeva. This statement does not relate to ordinary omniscients because Kurmaputra attained perfection with a body height
of two cubits and mother Marudevi with a body height of more than five * hundred Dhanush.
