________________ 158 VIVAGASUYA dreds of thousand times, among creatures of lower species possessing five sense organs ( जलयरपञ्चिन्दियfafaidai ) such as fish etc., similarly among quadrupeds, reptiles, creatures moving in space, creatures possessing four, three, two and one sense organs, and among elements. Then he would be born as a bull in the town of g; there in youth the bull would go to the bank of the river Ganges in the earlier part of the rainy season and in madness would attempt to dig up mud high up on the bank; in this attempt the bull would meet his death. Thereafter he would be born in a merchant family, become a monk, and after practising the course of asceticism for many years would die in peace and be born in a heaven. Then he would be born in a rich family of the महाविदेहवर्ष, and like 6, would attain liberation. The narrative of दढपइन्न will be found in पएसिकहाणयं 837-40 in औपपातिकसूत्र, as also in the भगवतीसूत्र, xv 34. 1, well-versed in 72 arts. The number of arts in Jain literature is 72 as against 64 in the Brahmanic literature. The list. of these कलाs will be found in पएसिकहाणयं 839. चउखट्ठिगणियागुणोववेया, endowed with sixty-four qualities of a courtesan. The Com, says :-diazenha fama: पण्यस्त्रीजनोचितानि यानि चतुष्षष्टिर्विज्ञानानि ते गणिकागुणाः, अथवा. वात्स्यायनोकानि आलिङ्गनादीन्यष्टौ वस्तूनि तानि च प्रत्येक मष्टभेदत्वाचतुष्षष्टिर्भवन्तीति एगूणतीसविसेसे रममाणी, dallying in twenty-nine different ways. एक वी सरइ गुणप्प हाणा,
