ссу dhyāna-stage which is attained through the extinction of these dharmas and utsāha (vyāyāma) with an earnest desire to contem
plate on the sūkşma ālaibanas ; (d) a description of how the citta gets concentrated
without any nimitta with the illustration of janapadakalyāni; this has been described as a part of the ādikarmika-caryā through samatha and vipaśyanā, aśubha-bhāvanā, the four apramāṇas and the acquisi
tion of punya-skandha (e) contemplation on the nature of the ephemeral
samskäras as the evenascent (anitya), non-egoistic and non-intrinsic (anātma) and of the nature of suffering (duhkha) with the concluding remark, tadadhyātmabahirdhā kāye yāvad dharmeșu dharmā
nudarsi viharati ; . (f) dhātuprabhedaprayogatā-contemplation on the
vinaryaste nature of dhātus leading to the bhāvanā of samatha and vipaśyunā and knowledge of viksepa, smộti and a samprajanya and rising forth
of cittakāyakarmanyatā and cittakāyapraśrabdbi; (g) arising āvirbhāva of orientation of the mind in the
stage of samādhi by the above process; (vi) enumeration of the different traits of a beginner
with the above mental orientation; and
(vii) pindoddāna.
