निकाचितानामपि कर्मणां यद् गरीयसां भूधरदुर्धराणाम् ।
विभेदने वज्रमिवातितीव्रं नमोऽस्तु तस्मै तपसेऽद्भुताय ||४||
9.1.5 Iron is capable of breaking down huge mountains. Similarly, austerities are capable of destroying even the most intensively bound karmas. Let's bow down to such marvellous austerities.
किमुच्यते सत्तपसः प्रभाव: कठोरकर्मार्जित किल्बिषोऽपि । दृढप्रहारीव निहत्य पापं यतोऽपवर्गं लभतेऽचिरेण ||५||
9.1.6 What can be said about Right Austerities! Even a murderer like Dradprahari destroyed his karmas in a short span of time and attained Moksh. This is the effect of austerity.
यथा सुवर्णस्य शुचिस्वरूपं दीप्तः कृशानुः प्रकटीकरोति । तथात्मन: कर्मरजो निहत्य ज्योतिस्तपस्तद्द्द्विशदीकरोति ।।६।।
9.1.7 Just like fire brings out the pure state of gold, similarly, austerities cleanse the dirt of karmas collected on our soul and make it outshine in its pure form.
बाह्येनाभ्यन्तरेण प्रथितबहुभिदा जीयते येन शत्रु - श्रेणी बाह्यान्तरङ्गा भरतनृपतिवद् भावलब्धदृढिम्ना || यस्मात्प्रादुर्भवेयुः प्रकटितविभवा लब्धयः सिद्धयश्च, वन्दे स्वर्गापवर्गार्पणपटुसततं तत्तपो विश्ववन्द्यम् ||७||
