PREFACE.
No prefice is needed to this little book, because the title itself is a sufficient recommendatoin for its careful perusal by the public without any words of introduction from me; yet, following the usual practice, I venture to say a word or two about this work.... .
: As in generally the case with many an ancient Indian poet, nothing is known about the author of this work. This work jienlcates the principles o high rectitude and truth ordained in the Jain Holy texts, yet, they are common to almost all the systems of philosophy and codes of ethics. It offers salvation to all human beings irrespective of caste, creed, colour, nationality or sex. It begins with «ffering obeisance to spiritual knowledge; which by fire of contemplation, unfolds divine truths as to the animate and the inanimate by purging the causes of wrong knowledge. It then refers to the method of attaining true happiness, by the eradication of the
