varying magnitudes due to the adjuncts with which it is associated. Sankara states as light, either, the Sun and so on appear differentiated as it were through their objects such as fingeres, vassels, water and so on which constitute limiting adjuncts, while in reality they preserve their essential non-differentiatedness, so the distinction of different selves is due to limiting adjuncts only, while the unity of selves is natural and original (यथा प्रकाशाकाशसवितृप्रभृतयोऽङ्गलिकरकोदकप्रभृतिषु कर्मसूपाधिभूतेषु सविशेषा इवावभासन्ते, न च स्वाभाविकीमविशेषात्मतां जहाति, एवं उपाधिनिमित्त qarTurcia: Partita I (B.S.B., II.II.25).
