Clever as he was, he gave precious gifts and in the bargain got large chunk of land from the king. Wealth is always a shifting entity. Realising this he constructed a big jain temple and established sound resources for its maintaince. The temple was surrounded by a flowery rden. Due to his misdeeds of previous birth (Karma) Dhanad lost all his wealth and prestigious status. He migrated to live in a nearby village. Once during religious event he went to Shankhpur. Alongwith his sons he was ascending the steps of jain temple when a flower-maid gave him a nice gartand. Sheth pleasantly worshipped jinendra. Bowed to the saint there and at :er cursing himselffor his plight began enchant ng 'mantra jap' Consequantly kapardi Yaksha realised and presented himself before Dhanad. The merchant asked Yaksha to bless him with the 'fruits' of his garlanding the deity. Yaksha regretedhis inability to reward him for the worship but said as you are religious m nded I put four 'Kalashas' on all the four corners of your house. Dhanad came home took pos session of 'Kalashas', talked over the matter to his sons, who came to their birthplace and utilised the money to erect Jain temples. Impressed by their generosity even the people belonging to other religion adopted jain Dharma. Wealth in the hands of religic us many means propagation of religion.
