________________ Panch Kalyan pooja was celebrated on the 14th. It started at 2:00 p.m. and before the sunset, dinner was served to all. On the 15th, Mahavira Conception Day was celebrated with a large number of people in attendance. On the 16th, bhavana was held and on the 17th, there was the reading of Athmasiddhi. The end of Paryushan festivities came to close on the 18th with the celebration of Samvatsari pratikraman. Garland, Texas. Jain Society of Northern Texas celebrated Paryusah '85 under the direction of Muni Amarendra from Siddhachalam. He was the chief guest specially invited for the occasion. Pravachan and bhavana were held daily between 7:00-9:00 p.m. at various locations in the metroplex. On September 1st, Pancha Kalyan Pooja was celebrated and Samvatsari pratikraman was observed on the 18th between 5:00-8:00 p.m. It is noted here that Rekha Sudhir Shah, one of the members, fasted for the entire eightday period. This is the first for the Jain Society of Northern Texas. Elmhurst, New York. Jain Center of America had an ambitious Paryushan festivity in 1985. Dr. Kumarpal Desai from Gujrat, India was invited specially for the festivities. Various daily functions of pooja, discourse, meditation and other religious activities were organized during the period September 11-18. The celebrations of Mahavira Conception Day attracted a large participation of over 1,500 people. 'Activities Interaction' was organized during the festivity.
