Leichester, England. The Jain Samaj of Europe and the members greeted the arrival of the idols of Tirthankaras from India. They held a ceremony of "Tirthankara Darshan" on the arrival of the idols.
The idols are of Lord Shantinath, the 13th Tirthankar, Lord Parshvanath, the 23rd Tirthankara and of the 24th Tirthankara, Lord Mahavira. The idols were air lifted from India and they arrived on August 19th.
The consecration of the idols and the ceremonies took place on August 25th. The idols were installed in the newly constructed Jain temple. Many devotees from various parts of England and the continental Europe participated in the auspicious ceremonies. A very joyous occasion for the Jain Samaj of Europe in realizing this formidable task of establishing a Jain Temple in the continent. Indeed, it is joyous occasion for all Jains world over.
THE SIDDHA CHAKRA POOJA
Mr. Babubhai Khadiwala from Gujrat, India, visited England specially to perform the Pooja. On August 18th, Mr. Khadiwala performed the Siddha Chakra Pooja in Leicester and in London, the Pooja was performed on August 31st.
JAIN SAMAJ OF EUROPE ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING
The Jain Samaj of Europe conducted its annual general body meeting on September 1, 1985. Dr. Na tubhai Shah was elected President of the Samaj.
