________________ Samvatsari Pratikraman on September 18th began at 5:30 p.m. with a talk on the significance of Pratikraman. Recitation of Pratikraman hymns was done with bidding by the participants. On September 22nd, Dr. Kumarpal Desai, noted Jain scholar from Gujrat, excited the members of the Society with Pratikraman talk. cleveland, Ohio. Jain Society of Greater Cleveland celebrated Paryushan '85 from September 11-18. Daily devotional songs, chantings of mantras, meditation and other related religious activities were held at the residences of various members. A bus was chartered on September 15th and the members visited Detroit to witness and participate in the Dream ceremonies organized by the Detroit Jain Society. The same night, the members returned from Detroit to Cleveland. Pittsburg, Ohio. The Hindu and the Jain temple of Pittsburg organized Mahavir Conception Day celebrations at the temple during the Paryushan festivities. The program was well attended. After stavans and bhavana, two lectures were delivered on the importance and auspiciousness of the celebration. Sant Narayan Muni and Swami Dharmanand spoke very lucidly. The Dream Ceremonies were the highlights of the day. Mr. Vinod Doshi coordinated the activities of the day. Documentary film, "Jain Temples of India, Heritage of Lord Mahavira, and Bahubali Gomateshwara Thousandth year of homage" on video (VHS) tape is available.
