At the same time the person is fully conscious, without being put into a trance state. The power itself is nothing connected with trances ; the real point to be discussed is whether there can be any such power, any understanding of the history of a thing not known to us by experience. The scientists have proved the existence of a subtle ether without which light, heat, electricty, etc., cannot be proved. Its laws cannot be fully understood; even this ether is not defined in a satisfactory way by science.
