Tolerance in Jaina Religion: Through the Ages: 105
Jaina religion towards society and nation is deep rooted. It is further confirmed by Acārya Somadevasūri31 also when he says that where there is no distortion from right faith and accepted vows, one ought to follow the tradition prevailing in the country.
Thus, it may be said that elements of religious tolerance are prevalent in plenty in Jaina religion, what is needed is to adopt these in practice, which is the need of hour. We may conclude with the words of Dr. L. M. Joshi52 of Punjab University, who observes: "The unity among the religions of mankind, if and when achieved, will be one of the greatest blessings on this earth. Certainly we cannot bring about this unity by mystifying or misinterpreting their differences in origins and doctrines. We can perhaps contribute towards achieving harmony among the followers of different faiths by impartially and respectfully studying their doctrines, beliefs and practices."
