________________ 80 : Sramaņa, Vol. 54, No. 1-3/January-March 2003 institutions are located at one place the names of the institutions are arranged alphabetically under the place name. Again where there are several catalogues published by one institution, the catalogues are first classified language-wise, then arranged chronologically as per the dates of their publication. The catalogues published may cover a region, state or country; in all such cases, entries have been arranged under the country or region. Works like general bibliographies, reports of surveys of manuscripts or catalogue of collections prepared by single person but not related to any specific place or institution, have been arranged by personal names of the author/ compiler of the catalogue. Where a catalogue is not related to any institution or place and is prepared by several persons or is an anonymous work, in such cases, they have been recorded under the title of the work. In descriptive part of the entries English words / names have been used as a general rule substituting Indian Language terms, e. g. Editor for Sampādaka, compiler for Sangrāhaka etc. Wherever the information is available, the original owner/location/ institution or collection as well as the present location etc. have been mentioned.
