________________ DE : 9901/377-7/888€ Again Christ says in the favour of the Non-opposition theory “You have heard that it hath been said An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. 38. But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil : But who so ever shall smite thee on thy right Cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will see thee at the law and take away thy coat let him have thy cloak also. 40. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. 41.”21 “Tit for Tat' is totally wrong. The problem cannot be solved by destroying eye for eye and tooth for tooth. Even peace cannot be felt as a result of such activity. Thus you do not oppose any misbehaviour happend against you. If somebody slaps on your one cheek, present the other to him. If some one wants to take your coat by force provide him your cloak also. If some person comples you to accompany with him for a mile, go with him up to the distance of two miles. In this way theory of Non-violence has been supported through the principles of Love and Non-oppositions. Islamic Philosophy and Non-violence Islamic Philosophy is a monotheistic philosophy, which depends on — 1. The Qurāna, 2. The Sunnā, 3. The Jima, 4. The Qias etc. In this philosophy Allāha or Khudā has been known as the ultimate reality. The word Khudā has got its origin in the word “Khud' which means 'ownself', therefore Khudā' means that who is selfborn, like the 'Svayambhū’of the Vedic tradition. He is addressed* as Rahamāna, i.e., One who possesses kindness. “Praise belongs to God, the Lord of the worlds the merciful, the compassionate, the ruler of the day of judgement. Thee we serve and thee we ask for aid." 22. Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
