मातिः
माङ्गल्य a. [मङ्गलाय हितं ष्यम् ] Auspicious, indica.tive of good fortune; क्षौम केनचिदिन्दुपाण्डु तरुणा माङ्गल्यमाविष्कृतम् S.4.43; सर्वमङ्गलमाङ्गल्ये शिवे Devistuti.-ल्यम् 1 Auspiciousness, prosperity, welfare, good fortune. -2 A blessing or benediction. -3 A festivity, festival, any auspicious rite. -4 An auspicious thing, amulet. -Comp. -मृदक: adrum beaten on auspicious occasions; ध्वनिश्च माजल्यमृदामसिलम् U.6.25.
