________________ अध्याय - 8 weapons like sword, dagger etc., pierces and slits clusters of trees such as palm, tamāl, plantain, and bamboo, and breaks up animate and inanimate objects; think about the real reason why he does not attract dust particles onto his body while performing such destructive activities. The stickiness of oil applied on his body was the reason for him attracting dust particles; know for sure that this attraction was not due to his bodily actions. In the same way, a right believer, while engaged in various activities, does not attract karmic dust due to the absence of dispositions like attachment. ज्ञानी और अज्ञानी की पहचान जो मण्णदि हिंसामि य हिंसिज्जामि य परेहि सत्तेहिं । सो मूढो अण्णाणी णाणी तो दु विवरीदो | - (8-11-247) जो पुरुष मानता है कि मैं परजीव को मारता हूँ और दूसरे जीवों के द्वारा मैं मारा जाता हूँ, वह पुरुष मोही और अज्ञानी है; और जो इससे विपरीत है ( जो ऐसा नहीं मानता), वह ज्ञानी है। 118 The man who believes that he kills other beings and gets killed by other beings, is under delusion and is ignorant. The man who thinks otherwise is the knower.
