A preliminary discussion of Logic is found in the Samayasāra, the Pravacanasāra, and the Pancāstikāya. 25. Mallavādi (4th-5th century A.D.) He was an inhabitant of Balabhipura in Saurāstra. The name of his mother was Durlabhadevī. He got ordination from his maternal uncle, Ācārya Jinānanda. He was a great logician. Once he was defeated by a Bauddha ācārya. As a result king Silāditya turned the Jaina ascetics out of his kingdom. Mallavadi was highly annoyed at it. He devoted his life to the study of logic, and defeated the Bauddha ācāryas in the court of king Silāditya. He composed the Dvādasaranayacakra, but it is not available in its original form at present. An attempt has been made to restore it on the basis of a commentary written by Simhasuri. 26. Mallavadi (700 A.D. - 750 A.D.) He wrote a tippanaka on the commentary by Dharmottara of the Nyāyabindu by Dharmakirti. 27. Mallişena (14th century A.D.) He was a disciple of Udayaprabhasūri belonging to the Nāgendra gaccha. He composed the Syādvādamañjari with the help of Jinaprabhasūři. It is a commentary on the Anyayogavyavacchedikā by Hemacandra. Upadhyāya Yaśovijaya has written a commentary (vrtti) named Syādvādamañjüşā on Syādvādamañjari. 28. Manikyanandi (993-1053 A.D.) According to the Gurvāvali of the Desīya gana of the Nandi samgha he was a disciple of Traikālyayogi. He was the teacher of Prabhācandra. His main work is Parīksāmukha. His learned disciple Prabhācandra wrote a commentary on it. Ācārya Subhacandradeva and Ācārya Sāntivarní wrote Parīkņāmukhavrtti and Prameyakanthikā commentaries respectively on Parīksāmukha. 29.
