Mattiyayai is identified with the country of the Bhojas by the side "of Parņāsa (Banas).

There was a jewelled thipa in Matliurã over which a quarrel is recorded to have arisen betwcen Jains and Buddhists In later literature of the Jains, however, five slūpas arc rcfcrred to in Mathurā.
