Partial sights (nayas) are valid for only one of the four planes of reality,22 i.e. either - the plane of names - where we use terms and expressions for the purpose of communication and social mechanisms (nania) - or - the plane of selection - where we filter our individual reality from the constant barrage of billions of inner and outer stimuli (sthapana) - or - the plane of all potentially possible features of the elements - the basis for the identical perception of reality by different people (dravya) - or - the plane of facts - where individual features of the elements effect our present (bhava). Partial sight further relates either to - the non-changing, general characteristics of the elements (dravyartika) - like the feature of space to provide room for the other elements, - or to - the ever-changing appearances of the elements (paryayarthika) - like the different physical forms we take on during our incarnations. Sutra 33 describes seven easy steps to gain insight into reality through partial sight (naya). * * * In the Western hemisphere of the world we concentrate mainly on partial sight (naya).
