PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE (continued), Continued from page 1 JANUARY 21 Brief meeting with H. H. Dalai Lama at Mafatkaka's residence in Bombay. JANUARY 23 Arrived at Veerayatan. JANUARY 24 Visited Veerayatan hospital with Acharya Chandanaji and was briefed about their different activities. JANUARY 26 In Veerayatan, inaugurated the Children's Cataract Camp and addressed the gathering of about 2,000 people, where I talked about the humanitarian activities of JAINA.
FEBRUARY 2 Reached the "Nokha" site of the annual gathering of Terapanthi. Addressed 20,000 attendees about the activities of JAINA. FEBRUARY 3 Held a private meeting with Acharya Maha Pragya, Head of Terapanthi, and discussed the role of Saman and Samani's in North America. FEBRUARY 5 Met Jain leaders of Bombay and Dubai and discussed the plans for the celebration of Lord Mahavir's 2600th birthday. FEBRUARY 6 To Ahmedabad. Met Jain leaders and addressed a large gathering at the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce about the activities of JAINA. FEBRUARY 6 Visited "Kutchhi Bhuvan". Addressed the girls of Mahavir Jain Vidhyalay and attended a medical gathering. FEBRUARY 10 To Pune. Visited 1500 orphans, victims of Latur earthquake; in the evening held, a town hall type of meeting and answered questions from the large audience, and was felicitated by 47 organizations.
JANUARY 27-30 Visited the pilgrimage sites of Bihar. JANUARY 31 Met the past President of India, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma and briefed him about JAINA'S activities. FEBRUARY 1 Met the past President of India, Dr. R. Venkataraman, and informed him about JAINA'S activities.
