UNG Minds YOUNG JAINS OF AMERICA Sign up for the 1998 YJA Convention CORO Jai Jinendra! The Young Jains of America and the Houston YJA Convention Committee (HYJACC) cordially invite you to attend the Third Biennial YJA Convention to be held in Houston from July 2-5, 1998. The purpose of this event is to provide Jain youth, ages 14-29, an exciting forum to explore the religion's philosophy, culture, and beliefs. The gathering of so many Jain youth in one place will create a unique community in which the free exchange of ideas and experi- ences will allow everyone to share their Jain heritage. One of the goals of this convention is to foster a sense of pride about our religion which will allow Jain ideals and fundamentals to continue and grow into the future. The Houston YJA Convention Committee expects a roughly even split of participants between the three groups of attendees ages 14-17, ages 18-22, and ages 23-29. Thus, we highly encourage youth and young adults of all ages to attend this one of a kind event. The activities will be geared towards participants with differing knowledge levels of Jainism. Whether beginning, intermediate, or advanced, all attendees will have the opportunity to learn from insightful guest speakers, panel debates, small group discussions, open forums, etc. The convention will take place at the beautiful Del Lago Resort and Conference Center. Located in a lush and secluded forest area just north of town, this lakeside facility will provide a peaceful natural environment for the weekend's activities.
