At our Pathshala Teachers' Workshop held during the JAINA Convention in Toronto, it was felt by the majority of attendees that it would be helpful if the various Pathshala organizations were able to share information and ideas regarding the activities, educational programs and teaching developments that were occurring at the various centers. The intention was to organize and co-ordinate the information and ideas by establishing a Pathshala Teachers' Com- munication Network. To communicate this information the vari- ous means of communication available would be used, such as email, fax, JAINA BBS, etc.
One important vehicle for communicating to all Jain Centers is JAIN DIGEST. And, very nicely, JAINA has willingly agreed to be a strong link in the network by providing one full page for the presentation of Pathshala news and information.
The Jain DIGEST Pathshala Network page will be a forum for people involved in Pathshala to communicate and share informa tion for the continued development of Jain Pathshala education. It will act as a catalyst to reflect the ideas and information to enhance the promotion of Jain Pathshala. As well, this page will be a forum where it will be possible to professionally contribute suggestions and express concerns and constructive criticism regarding Pathshala matters.
News regarding Jain Center activities, which may include
Pathshala events, is often covered in another section of JAIN DIGEST. Such news would be also welcome on this page if it includes more specific details about the activities, planning, and procedures that went into the program actually occurring; as well as the materials used and the means by which the Pathshala students made their presentations.
By giving prominence to Pathshala programs it will motivate Jain Centers to set up and support Pathshala activities and encourage parents to send their children. We propose to give a profile of successful Pathshala and its activities so that it will inspire other centers to follow their example. Most important we want encourage all Pathshala teachers to carry out this important work, and motivate more young peopole to join in this effort.
Each center will have a unique challenge depending on its size, community participation and support from the executive committee. The greatest success of the information page will occur if each Pathshala is encouraged and motivated for the benefit of the Jain Community in North America.
The final date for Pathshala centers to send their news and information, for publication in the next issue of JAIN DIGEST, is May 1,1998. Please forward your comments either to the Editor in Chief of Jain DIGEST, or to JAINA Headquarters. Both addresses are on page 2.

JAINA Headquarters recently forwarded the following Jain educational material to all Pathshala: Souvenir of Regional YJA Convention in Raleigh North Carolina, Comparison of the world's major religions, and Fundamentals of Jainism.
If your Prathshala has not received it, you can contact Kamalesh Amin at JAINA Headquarters. This material is a valuable addition to your Pathshala's resource center.
The Jain Center of Boston is hosting a Pathshala Teachers Convention on May 23-24, 1998 (see the information to the left). At this time it is planned to formally put the JAINA Educational Curriculum material in front of Pathshala teachers for review and approval. This workshop will be a good venue to meet your colleagues.
