S. B. DEO (d) Gaņas :
(1) Lāda-Bāgada272 (2) Puşkara273 The 'Gherwāļa' sect of this Sangha is also occasionally mentioned.274 This Sangha is also often referred to along with the Müla Sangha.275
Kāşthā Sangha gets epigraphical mention even as late 276 as in V.S. 1910, and seems to have spread not only in South India but even in Bihar, Rajputana, U.P., and Madhya Bharat. KOLATTUR SANGHA :
It is mentioned as early as in c. 7th cent. A.D. in epigraphs from Sravana Belagoļa.277
It seems to have some connection with a place called Kolattur (Kittur ?).
LATABAGADA SANGHA :
It is said to be a branch of Kasthā Sangha, and is mentioned in the Dubkund inscription of Kacchapaghāta Vikramasimha,278 dated V.S. 1145.
Sometimes the name is given as Lāțavāgata Gana, which is perhaps identical with Lāțabāgada.
Bāgada is the name of the region near Chitor.279 MAHI SANGHA :
BHANDARKAR refers to it in his list.280 Unfortunately the date is lost. But it seems to have received its name after a place name.
MATHURA SANGHA :
It is said to be a branch of the Kāşthā Sangha and founded by Rāmasena at Mathurā in V.S. 953.
