The fourth way is to mention the indescribable nature of the thing; 5. The fifth way is to say what the thing is, the thing being indescribable in one moment; 6. The sixth way is to say what the thing is not, being unable at one and the same moment to say both what it is and what it is not; 7. The seventh way is first to say what the thing is and then what it is not, as these cannot both be expressed at one and the same moment. I. In the first way the existence of a thing is taken into consideration; 2. In the second, . non-existence of a thing is thought about; 3. In the third, both the existence and non-existence are considered in consecutive order, i.e. one after the other; . 4.
