वहस्तिो f. There is a number of words of frequent use that
are declined a little differently from the above types. Their irregular forms are generally the direct descendents of the corresponding old Indian ones which analogy has failed to reduce to any of the common types. Among masculines may be noted :-- (i) (पिउ or पिड (Skt. पित) - father' Singular
Plural N. V. पिया (Sct. पिता, पितः) पियरो (Skt. पितरः) ___A. पियरं (Skt. पितरम्) पियरो D. G. पिउणो, पिउसस
पिऊणं, पिई I. पिउणा
पिऊहिं, पिईहिं ___L पियरि (Skt. पितरि) पिऊसु, पिसु Ab. पिउणो
. पिऊहितो, पिईहितो (ii) भाउ or भाइ (Skt. भ्रातृ) 'brother.'

(iii) Similarly are declined the agent nonns derived from old stems ending in te.g.ar or 78 (Skt. दात) 'giver'. (iv) Among Feminines may be noted :
माउ or माइ (Skt. मात) ' mother.'
