________________ YOGADŘŞTISAMÜCCAVA संसारिपु हि देवेषु भक्तिस्तत्कायगामिनाम् । तदतीते पुनस्तत्त्वे तदतीतार्थयायिनाम् ॥१११॥ saṁsārișu hi deveșu bhaktis tatkāyagāminām / tadalite punas tattve ladatitarthayayinām ||11111 . The woridly deities are an object of devotion for those who aspire to be born in the form of these deities, the truth transcending the worldly existence for those who aspire to go beyond the worldly existence. चित्रा चायेषु तद्रागतदन्यद्वेषसङ्गता । अचित्रा चरमे त्वेषा शमसाराऽखिलैव हि ॥११२॥ citrā cãdyeșu tadrāgatadanyadveşasangatā / acitrā carame tv eşā samasārā'khilaiva hi ||112|| . The devotion directed to the former is variegated insofar as it is accom panied by an attachment towards one deity and an aversion towards the rest; on the other hand, the devotion directed to the latter is permeated with an all round calm and is therefore non-variegated. संमारिणां हि देवानां यस्माच्चित्राण्यनेकधा । स्थित्यैश्वर्यप्रभावायैः स्थानानि प्रतिशासनम् ॥११३।। तस्मात् तत्साधनोपायो नियमाच्चित्र एव हि । न भिन्ननगराणां स्यादेकं वम कदाचन । ११४॥ sañsāriņām hi devānān yasmāc citrāny anekadhā / sthilyaišvaryaprabhāvād yaiḥ sthānāni pratiśāsanam ||11311 lasmāt latsādhanopāyo pijamāc citra eva hi / na bhinnanagarāṇāṁ syād ekaṁ vartma kadācana ||11411 Since the seats of the worldly deities are differently conceived by different theological orders-e.g. there are divergent notions as regards their duration, eminence, power etc.-it is but natural that the methods . prescribed for the attainment of these divine seats should be mutually divergent. Certainly, it is not possible to reach different cities (i.e. cities situated in different directions) by following the same path. इष्टापूर्तानि कर्माणि लोके चित्राभिसन्धितः । नानाफलानि सर्वाणि द्रष्टव्यानि विचक्षणः ॥११५|| istapārtāni karmāņi loke citrabhisandhitaḥ / nanaphalani sarvāni drstavyani vicaksaraih ||11511Page Navigation
