________________ 68 YOGADṚSTISAMUCCAYA चित्रा तु देशनैतेषां स्याद् विनेयानुगुण्यतः । यस्मादेते महात्मानो भवव्याधिभिषग्वराः ॥ १३४ ॥ citra tu deśanaiteṣāṁ syād vineyānuguṇyataḥ | yasmād ete mahātmāno bhavayyadhibhişagvaraḥ ||134|| 7 Their teaching exhibits diversity of types parallel to the diversity of levels possessed by the understanding of the disciples concerned; for these great personages are competent physicians in relation to the ailment called worldly existence. यस्य येन प्रकारेण बीजाघानादिसंभवः । सानुबन्धो भवत्येते तथा तस्य जगुस्ततः ॥ १३५॥ yasya yena prakāreņa bījādhānādisambhavaḥ | sānubandho bharaty ele tatha tasya jagus tataḥ ||135|| They thus enlightened different types of disciples in different manners, only keeping in mind th it in each case the sowing of seed (of religious faith) was possible and the remaining operations were so performed that the plant would go on growing smoothly (and would ultimately bear fruit). एकाऽपि देशनैतेषां यद्वा श्रोतृविभेदतः । afazyyogaıqwla aur faarsauraà ||?ZE}} eka' pi deśanaiteṣāṁ jadvā śrotṛoibhedataḥ | acintya punyasamarthyāt tathā citra'vabhasate ||136|| Or we might say that their teaching is really one and the same but that it appears different to the different members of the audience owing to the inscrutable capcity of the virtuous acts earlier performed by them (i. e. performed by these members of the audience or by these teachers in their earlier briths.) यथाभव्यं च सर्वेषामुपकारोऽपि तत्कृतः । जायतेऽवन्ध्यताऽप्येवमस्याः सर्वत्र सुस्थिता ॥ १३७॥ yathabhavyam ca sarveṣām upakāro'pi tatkṛtaḥ | jayate'vandhyata'py evam asyaḥ sarvatra susthita ||137|| This teaching thus turns out to be beneficial to all-but to each in a way that specially suits him. That again is how this teaching well demonstrates its fruitful character in each and every case.
