वंशो येन पवित्रतामिह महामात्याह्वयः प्राप्तवान् श्रीमद्वल्लभराजशक्तिकटके यश्चाभवन्नायकः ॥,
found in the Prasasti of Mahāpurāņu. In the line
ख्यातो बन्धुः कवीनां भरत इति कथं पान्थ जानासि नो त्वम् ॥ १५ ॥ of a stanza of the Prasasti of Mahāpurāņu, Bharata is described as the brother of poets. In the stanza
तीव्रापद्दिवसेषु बन्धुरहितेनकेन तेजस्विना
सन्तानक्रमतो गताऽपि हि रमा कृष्टा प्रभोः सेवया । यस्याचारपदं वदन्ति कवयः सौजन्यसत्यास्पदं
सोऽयं श्रीभरतो जयत्यनुपमः काले कलौ साम्प्रतम् ॥
Bharata is described as having been reduced to poverty and as having regained his property by serving his master.
Nanna extended his patronage to the great poet, Puspadanta, generously as his father did. He served under king Vallabha as a minister entrusted with the duty of looking after the domestic affairs of the king. In the Prasasti -
सुहतुंगभवणवावारभारणिव्वहणवीरधवलस्स कोंडिल्लगोत्तणहससह रस्स पयईए सोम्मस्स ॥ १ ॥ कुंदन्वागन्भसमुब्भवस्स सिरिभरहभट्टतणयस्स जसपसरभरियभुवणोयरस्स जिणचरणकमलभसलस्स ॥ २ ॥ अणवर यर इयवर जिण हरस्स जिणभवणपूर्याणिरयस्स जिणसासणायमुद्धारणस्स मुणिदिण्णदाणस्स ॥ ३॥ कलिमलकलंकपरिवज्जियस्स जियदुविहवइरिणिय रस्स कारुण्णकं दणवजलहरस्स दीणजणसरणस्स ॥ ४ ॥ णिवलच्छोकीलासरवरस्स वाएसरिणिवासस्स जिस्सेसविउ सविज्जाविणोर्याणिरयस्स सुद्ध हिययस्स ॥ ५ ॥
