________________ Description and Chronology of Caves 121 Inside the cave, the niche on the right sidewalll of the hall, near the back wall is empty. The corresponding niche on the left sidewall has sculptures in three tiers, each tier with figures of two seated Jinas. In addition to these, there are a few icons on the pillars and the pilasters of the hall and also the front wall of the verandah. These are arranged haphazardly and do not seem to form part of the original iconographic programine of the cave. These are in two or three vertical tiers, each with single or two seated Jinas. The panel on the left front wall of the verandah has three tiers, of which the upper two have three seated Jinas each, while the lower one has two seated Jina figures, here numbered 19a to 19h (Plate 81). There are three figures of Jinas above the door leading to J26, numbered (7a), (7b) and (7b) here. Flanking the steps to shrine, there is a small figure of seated Jina, numbered (9) and (10) here. 1 8 2 3 Icon No. 5a 5b 5c 6 7 (la) (lb) (2) (3a) (3b) (3c) (4a) (4b) Icon Sarvanuhuti Ambika Seated Jina Kamatha's attack on Parsvanatha Two seated Jinas Two seated Jinas Two seated Jinas Penance of Bahubali Seated Jina Seated Jina Two seated Jinas Seated Jina Seated Jina Seated Jina Standing with devotees Seated Parsvanatha Seated Jina Icon Size Verandah 1.97m by 1.22m 1.76m by 1.3m Damaged (Fig. 38g).
