________________ Children Activity and Usha Doshi - Food Coordinator. SIDDHACHAKRA POOJA HIND-JAIN CHAITYALAYA, MONROEVILLE,PA Monoroeville, PA. The Jain community of Pittsburg organised Siddhachakra Pooja on Saturday 30 July 1988 at its Chaityalaya in Monroveille, suburb of Pittsburg. The Pooja, which consisted of different performings invoking the great Samana Souls to bless the earthlings, began at 12 noon and concluded at 5.00 PM. The Poojas were performed by Kadiwala and group from Gujrat, India. Vinod Doshi and Suresh Shah were the coordinators of the program. JAIN CAMP IN NIAGRA FALLS, CANADA The Third Annual Jain Camp of the International Mahavira Jain Mission, Canada was organised at Loretta Center in Niagra Falla, Canada, from July 30 to August 07,1988. There were about ninety registrants, of which 55 were children who came for the second time. The weeklong camp was programmed under the direction of Acharya Sushil Kumar. Other munis present at the camp were Amarendra Muni from Siddhachalam, Acharya Chandana and her Sangha from Veerayatan, a Jain Spiritual Shrine in Bihar, India and Muni Vimalasuri from Delhi. The concluding Saturday was a Parent Day attended by the parents of the registrant children. JAIN SOCIETY OF WASHINGTON DC ACTIVITIES OF THE PAST QUARTER The main features of the activities of the Jain Society of Washington, DC in the past quarter were geared to social, spiritual and travel pursuits. The events were hot hot in this hot summer days. Travel to Siddhachalam on chartered buses to participate in the 5th Anniversary of Siddhachalam Shrine, June 18 -19,1988 was exciting. Manoj Dharamsi, Jyoti & Kanu Doshi, the Cangar Brothers-Kanti, Jay & Hari and Jaya Nagda displayed their mastering of the Jain devotionals, a feast for three hours. And the folowing day, the members participated in the Snatra Pooja. The Picnic organised on June 26 at Black Hill Park in Boyd, Maryland was full of social and sport events. In addition it provided an opportunity for fraternity and camraderie among the members. 07-10,1988 at St. The 3-day Jain Camp, July Mary's College Campus, organised in two separate groups, adults and children, was successful. The adult camp was conducted by Dr H.C.Bharill from Jaipur, India and the children camp was conducted by Gurdev Chitrabhanu and assisted by his disciple Balabhadra from Toronto.
