LORD MAHAVIR IDOL CONSECRATED IN NORTH CAROLINA
GARNER, NC. Major auspicious event organised by Jain Study Center of North Carolina last December was the consecration ceremonies of Lord Mahavir idol at the Temple-Hall of Hindu Society, located in Morrisville township between Raleigh and the RDV airport.
Acharya Sushil Kumar and Amarendra Muni graced the occasion. The auspicious consecration ceremonies began with the chanting of Namokar Mantra by Sushil Muni and the actual ceremonies were performed by Dr. A. L. Mantra with explanations and significance of each step as progressed.
To top the event, Sushil Muni delivered discourses on basic tenents of Jain philosophy, Meditation and Thoughts on Unity.
NI JAIN CENTER BRINGS OUT MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY
ESSEX FALLS, NJ. The Membership directory of jain Center of New Jersey has been recently released. The directory provides a comprehensive stats about its membership and serves as a source for a possible camaraderie among its own membership and among other Jain Societies in USA and Canada.

OHIO GOVERNOR RECOGNISES
DRS BAFNA & SALGIA
COLUMBUS, OH. The Jain Community of Greater Cleveland is proud that two of its members, Dr. Mohan Bafna, a well known physician and Dr. Tansukh Salgia, business administrator in Education, have been honoured by the State Governor, Richard F. Celeste.
The Governor honoured Drs. Bafna and Salgia with Governor's Special Recognition Award. The Award cites their generosity in offering time, efforts and support in carrying out the missions of the Federation of India Community Associations of NE Ohio.
DISCOURSE BY JAIN MUNIS
FREEMONT, CA. Two Jain Munis Yogesh & Shohag, from Siddhachalam, NJ in the east travelled to west coast California in March to deliver lectures. The discourse, organised by Jain Center of No. California, on March 1 - 2, 1987 was a large success. The much publicised event drew a large gathering.
Yogesh and Shohag Munis addressed the members of Jain Community. Yogesh Muni, in his lecture, explained Jain principles and their adoption in life for a clear simple spiritual living amidst plenty.
Both the Munis made an impact by engaging in interesting discussions on one to one basis, and providing an insight into it.

BOSTON, MA. The second edition of Jain Directory of North America was released this January '87 by Jain Center of Greater Boston, which pioneered this monumental work first in 1979. About 3100 copies were sent in North America alone.
