ONTARIO ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR PROF HARISH JAIN TORONTO, ON. The Ministry of Citizenship & Culture, Govt. of Ontario, held ceremonies on April 01, 1987 to honour Ontarians with 1987 Outstanding Achievement Award. One of the awardees, Prof. Harish Jain, McMaster University, Hamilton, was the recipient of this award. On the occasion, Lt. Gov., Lincoln Alexander honoured Prof. Jain with Outstanding Achievement Award 1987 for his dedicated volunteership in social-cultural and religious activities. Prof. Jain, an authority in Labour Relations Studies in Canada, is a member of Toronto Jain Society and President of International Mahavira Mission, Canada. HOUSTON JAIN SOCIETY ELECTS EXECUTIVES 1987 HOUSTON, TX. The New Executive Committee of Houston Jain Society was unanimously elected at the General Body Meeting held on Saturday, April 11. The new Executive Members are: Miss Alpna Jain, Misses Anjana Sheth, Ranjna Shah, Rekha Mehta, Messers Prabodh Mehta, Ashok Singhavi and Suresh Sutaria. The Past President, Mr. Jayant Mehta is ex-officio. PBS TV documentary, 'AHIMAS-NON-VIOLENCE' will be available in Video cassettes from Colorado, USA. Expected price per cassette is U$20-25. Jain Lecture Series by Dr. Hukum Chand Bharill, well known Jain Scholar, writer and thinker from Jaipur, India will be organised again this year. Various Jain Organisations both in USA and Canada will have opportunity to hear Dr. Bharill on various Jain principles, philosophy and social issues.
