એતિહાસિક જ The activities of the brothers did not stop here. They shared the perils of battle-fields with their master and won victories for him. Their deeds of valour have been sung by the poets and exto. lled by the bards. Their suppression of the over powered Said ( 48 ) of Cambay, their victory over Mahammed Ghori Sultan, Muizzuddin Babram Shah of Delhi and their smart capture of the Godha ohief Ghughula are achievements, gallant and glorious, enongh to win them a high place among the great warriors of India.'
ઉપરના લાંબા અવતરણને ભાવાર્થ એ છે કે-વસ્તુપાલના કારભારમાં હલકા અને ખટપટી મનુષ્યના ધંધા પડી ભાંગ્યા. પ્રામાણિકતા મોખરે આવી, એણે જીર્ણતાને વરેલા છતાં પ્રાચીનતાનો પુરાવો આપતાં મકાનો સુધરાવ્યાં, વૃક્ષો રોપાવ્યાં, કૂવાઓ ગણાવ્યા, બાગબગીચા વિસ્તાર્યા અને પાટનગરને દેખાવ ફેરવી નાંખે. જ્ઞાતિ કે ધર્મના ભેદભાવને મચક આપ્યા સિવાય તે બધા સાથે સરખી રીતે વર્યો.
વિશેષમાં માત્ર વસ્તુપાલ જ નહિં પણ સાથે તેજપાલ પણ ખરો જ. ઉભય બંધુઓએ જેમ વહીવટી તંત્ર નમૂનેદાર બનાવ્યું તેમ સમરાંગણ પણ ખેડયું. એમનાં શૂરાતનનાં વર્ણન કવિઓએ ગાયા અને બારેટેએ કવિતામાં અવતાર્યા.
ખંભાતમાં કર્તાહત થઈ પડેલ શૈઇદ સીદીક ]ને, દિલ્હીના સુલતાનને અને ગેધ સરદાર ઘુઘુળને તાબે કરી પોતાનામાં જેટલી સરળતાથી કલમ ચલાવાની શક્તિ છે તેટલી સરળતાથી ભાલે ફેરવવાની તાકાત પણ છે એ વાત પૂરવાર કરી આપી.
