________________ MEETING PEOPLE Yes, it is very exciting that you may be on your own and get to meet new people. But, do not forget about your parents, family, and old friends. They are your biggest support system and have played a large role in the person you are today. Make time for them regardless of how near or far they are from you geographically -- even if it's just a phone call to your parents every few days. High School Friends As you and your current high school friends separate and go to different colleges, it may be difficult to maintain these relationships from a distance. For some people, college is a time for metamorphosis. You may find your high school friends changing and you may change as well. It is possible to keep in touch, though. I've been blessed in that I am even closer to my old childhood and high school friends now than I was even back in school. This was surprising because we BEING JAIN IN COLLEGE
