________________ TIME MANAGEMENT AND DISCIPLINE 06 – Organization and Health Disciplining yourself to work on your own is difficult, especially in the beginning. You are now thrown into a world where you have to wake up by yourself for class (although you also have the option to sleep in), do your homework, get good grades, keep your room clean without your mom telling you to, do your laundry, find Jain friendly foods to eat, spend time with friends, exercise, manage the millions of fun distractions thrown your way, work a job, and maintain a Jain way of life -- all on your own. Your mom and dad may be there as moral support, to provide you with money for your expenses, possibly to take laundry home once in a while or to drop off some food, but for the most part you are on your own. How can you survive? The best ways to do so are through time management, prioritization, and seeing the “big picture.” When it comes to completing all these tasks and waking up for class, you have to learn to be disciplined. Fundamentally, you must develop will power. Check out Tim Ferris' The 4-hour Work Week to get some good techniques for how to be effective at Organizing and Time management. BEING JAIN IN COLLEGE
