WHY 'ABHYUDAYA'?
We, the Indian settlers have been working very hard to acquire wealth and happiness in this country since decades. Away from our motherland, we are now part of western socie
ty.
But can we really forget the centuries old culture and tradition which has been passed on to us from our fore-fathers? This culture has made us aware of our own identity. It has infused some values which are part of our blood stream and flowing uninterrupted from one generation to the other. Because of these high spiritual and moral values, our culture has been a center of attraction for numerous faith seekers from the west.
We feel that it is our responsibility to keep our young generation fully aware of these values and traditions which can keep the humanity in good shape.
'Abhyudaya' is an effort to fulfill this responsibility. 'Abhyudaya' will endeavor to become a valuable organ of our community. It will give you a platform to express yourself and it will link the common people and the community leaders. We will also try to keep you abreast with the social developments taking place in India.
हमारी संस्था शिक्षायतन का मूल उद्देश्य भारतीय संस्कृति की ज्योति को इस प्रवासियों की भूमि पर अविराम जलाए रखना हैं । हमारी नयी पीढ़ी को अपनी संस्कृति व सभ्यता के प्रति जागरूक करना तथा आज की भौंतिकता एवं मन की आध्यात्मिकता के बीच एक सेतु बनाये रखना ही हमारा कार्य हैं।
संस्कृति निरंतर संस्कार का एक कम हैं और हम वे संस्कार संगीत, कला एवं साहित्य के माध्यम से डालने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। भारतीय साहित्य व संगीत अपने पद चिन्ह पहले ही सारे संसार में स्थापित कर चुका हैं । आवश्यकता हैं उसको जनसाधारण तक उपलब्ध कराने की और वह कार्य हम अपनी संस्था में कर रहे हैं।
हमारी संस्था इसलिए अपने आप में मौलिक हैं क्योंकि यह जनसामान्य की ही संस्था हैं तथा जनसामान्य के लिये हैं । हमारे बच्चे पूर्व की आध्यात्मिकता व पश्चिम की भौतिकता के बीच संतुलन स्थापित कर अपने जीवन का चतुर्मुखी विकास करें, यही हमारा लक्ष्य हैं।
हम प्रभु से प्रार्थना करते हैं कि इनमें बल, विद्या तथा बुद्धि का बहुमुखी विकास हो।

'Abhyudaya' is appearing from an institution (Shikshayatan) which is already engaged in educating the members of the community in the areas of art, culture and the languages. We will also try to spread these messages to American people who can also understand and value our social system in true perspective.
We have taken up this new venture of publishing'Abhyudaya' because we have been always encouraged and inspired by you. We hope to get your continued support and valuable suggestions and will try our best to create better editions of 'Abhyudaya'.
