INTRODUCTION
Prasastis' and the introductory verses of the Pāțhyaratnakosa and see what facts can be ascertained from them.
Name :
The Ms. C. of Nrtyaratnakosa gives to this person only one name - Kālasena. But in the printed text of Pāțhyaratnakos'a we find such variants of Kālasena as Kālajit", Kāluji“, Krşņa and Tamarājie. Mention of Kāma seems to be a misprint for Kāla".
Geneology of Kālasena:
In the Pāthyaratnakosa, Kālasena refers to his dynasty as Vyāghrac mikaravaṁs'a. We can gather the following geneology of Kālasena from his Pras'astis :
Tāmarāja – (1)
Āmodarāja
Rāmarāja Penkarāja (Peņa] P. R. K. P. 3, V. 12. Mhāmarāja (Hmānga] P. R. K. V. 13. (Queen Padmāvati), Tāmarājendra (Tāmarāja] P. R. K. P. 5. V. 16.
Kālasena
The second Tâmarāja is described as Mahārājādhirāja-Mahārāņā. Srimțgānka - Tāmarājendra. It is not clear as to what is suggested by Srimrgānka. Mrgānka means the moon. Tämarājendra can be taken to mean Tāma, the great king.
