________________ 67 working out of the karma ; karma when it is entirely removed. Kshāyopashama. Part of the karma is controlled and part worked out. 3rd Stage of Development. Called the Mishra-drishti-guna-sthāna. It is of only a few moments, duration. In the first stage or mithyātva gunasthāna, the state of mind is such that there is a positive dislike and repulsion of the truth ; in the 2nd stage or sāsvādana gunasthāna, their is just the state of the control of the mithyātva (delusion); in this mishra-drishti gunasthāna, there is neither like nor dislike for the truth when it is presented to you: you just let the truth pass by without either liking it or disliking it. It is a sort of indifference, and there is no great wish or desire or energy put forth in this state of mind. This third stage is the result of the rise of the mishra mohaniya karma (2nd sub-division of class 4). The mishra mohaniya karma is the most noticeable sign or characteristic of this stage. In this stage, there are 43 out of the 57 deter minant causes operative. Those not Causes opera- operative are : the 5 mithyātvas ; the worst degree of respectively anger, pride, deceitfulness, and greed ; the āhāraka mishra yoga, the âhāraka yoga, the kārmana yoga, the audārika mishra yoga, and the vaikriya mishra yoga. tive.
