He should not remain in a room next to one in which a man and wife are in bed together if the wall is thin enough for him to hear or know or guess what is going on, because it will arouse thoughts of passion. 6. He should not bring to mind the sexual enjoyment he had with his wife in former days. 7. He should avoid taking foods which are exciting or intoxicating, or stimulating, especially things that are very oily, containing too much fat, because they produce passion. S. Even non-exciting and non-stimulating foods should not be taken in excess, he should not gorge himself, because a too great quantity of food will produce passion. 9. He should not embellish his body. All the foregoing remarks apply equally to woman, although they are worded for men. Aticharas. I. For a person who has taken the second part of the vow to have intercourse with any girl or woman who is not the wife of somebody, would be to soil the vow. 2.
