Devasūri, also, went to Anahilavāda,“ As Kumudachandra was the preceptor of Mayanalladevi's father, she was doing her best to ensure his victory by giving presents to principal men of the Court Hemachandra, coming to know of this, represented to her that in the debate that would follow, the Digambaras would denounce whereas the Swetambaras would uphold the good deeds done by women. When Mayanalladevi came to know of this, she ceased to favour Kumudachandra, thinking him to be a man utterly unacquainted with the usages of the world." On the day fixed for disputation, the Court was attended by learned men representing six schools of philosophy. Kumudachandra had also come in great pomp and taken the seat assigned to him by Siddharaja. On the other side, Devasüri and Hemachandra sat.
