Turning now to what we called in the graduatsd course Madhyama and what you call "Shastri" the first paper should be Prajnapna (ar) or Thānanga and Visheshavashyaka Bhashya-Mula (ठाणांग अने विशेषावश्यक भाष्य भूल) may be reserved for the final Acharya Examination. Siddha Sena Divakara 20 Dwatrinsikhas ( सिद्धसेन दिवाकर विंशति द्वत्रिशिका ) are quite unsuitable for the Shastri Examination. They have more to do with literature than with logic. The same must therefore be omitted and instead the second paper must be in Syadwada Ratnakar-avatārika ( स्याद्वाद रत्नाकरावतारिका) We would now omit 2 b from our course with a view not to encumber the course as there are two other sections in this examination also, and instead couple Shat Darshana Samuchchaya ( षटू दर्शन समुच्चय) with Syadwada Ratnākarārika in the second paper.
The third paper should be Tatvartha Sutra (तत्वार्थसूत्र) with Swopajna Bhashya ( स्त्रोपज्ञभाष्य) and Tika of Siddha Sena Gani or Raja-Vārtika (a) (we think the later commentary far better than any other on Tattvartha Sutra). This is necessary to give a general idea of Jain Philosophy to students in the Shastri Examn. If you think the same unneces. sary having been taught with Bhashya in the Praveshika Examination, you may include Syadwada Ratnakara
૨૦૦ Parichched 4 (स्याद्वादरत्नाकर परिच्छेद ४) instead but we should desire you to include Shat Darshana Samuchchaya (a aga) of Hari Bhadra Suri with Tika of Guna Ratna ( गुणरत्न ) only Mūla is taught in the Abhäysiks Examination) in the 2nd paper. We think you should omit Sammati tarka part I and 2nd as the same are above the mark of the second examination and would unduly burden the students.
The fourth paper should be Sapta Bhangi Tarangini (सप्तभंगी तरंगिणी) with Dravya Sangraha (द्रव्य संग्रह) We would drop Nayopdesha (नयोपदेश ). Instead of Karma Granthas 5th and 6th we would prescribe here Pancha Sangraha (पंचसंग्रह ) part 1 and include no work on Karma in the Acharye Examination.
We approve of the courses in the 2nd and 3rd section. In the Shastri Section the course would be as follows:1. Prajnapna Or Thanang. (Iपना वा ठाणांग).
2. Syadwada Ratnakaravatarika and Shat Darshan Samuchchaya Satika Tika by Guna Ratna (स्याद्वादरत्नाकरावतारिका तथा षट्दर्शन समुच्चय स० श्री गुणरत्न कृत).
3. Syadwada Ratnakara Parichchedu4(स्याद्वाद रत्नाकर परि०४). 4. Sapta Bhangi Tarangini and Dravya Sangraha ( सप्तभंगी तरंगिणी तथा द्रव्य संग्रह ).
