________________ Nipātanas, and obsolete and rare usages also. Even in the rules injuncting optional examples, all the illustrations are given regularly. Both in the Bhatti and Rāvaņārjunīya, these rules' never prevailed regularly Observing the grammatical illustrations, the Dvyāśrayakāvya may be said to be the most mature and best amongst grammatical poems where all the examples are found in toto although they became an obstacle in the theme of the poem. The historical importance of the Dvyāśrayakā. vya lies in the fact that the geonological lists given by Hemacandra are fully authentic and can be corroborated by the existing Pattāvalis of the dynasty. The object of illustrations and writing a mahākāvya compelled him to make changes in the characteristics of his characters and few sequences in the theme. The facts and figures given by Hemacandra are sometimes at given by contemporary sources e.g. Grāharipu and Laksa were enemies of Mūlarāja; kings of Anga recognized the power of Cāmundarāja; Kīra, a king of Kashmir recognized his supremacy and Coronation of Durlabharāja by Cāmundarāja himself is not found elsewhere. The svyamvara which is introduced by Hemacandra to fulfil all the characteristics of the mahākāvya is not found in any other source. Bhima had inimical relation with the king of Mathurā and had no recognition in Kurudeśa. The enmity of Sindhurāja and Cedirāja is also not found in any other work. Before going to fight against Cedirāja, Bhīma had to face a fight of Bhillas also.
