tiñantas in his poem. Bhimabhatta in his Rāvaņārjunīya set a new tradition to illustrate all the ad. hikaraṇas of grammar in the same order although he could not completely fulfil it. Hemacandra took a new enterprise to write his poem which consisted of not only complete examples of his grammar but also illustrated the controversial illustrations in pa. rticular. Another feature of Hemacandra's illustra tions are to illustrate counter-examples (pratyudā. haraṇa) which are totally missing in other poems. To explain the tedious and optional forms, Hemacandra illustrates a series of examples also.
The examples creating a hurdle in the theme are rarely omitted because Hemacandra is capable of moulding them in accordance with appropriate contexts. The rules which require further explanations and classifications are explained through cate. gorical examples sometimes more than one. The commentator Abhayatilakagani tries to explain such examples fully?.
Another regular paractice in the Dvyāśrayakā. vya is the explanation of synonyms of the words and roots proposed to be expl ined. Like synonyms long list of words and roots in the rules are fully illustrated irrespective of their length. If the roots are used in a number of senses, all the meanings are regularly illustrated.
