Assam, Aden 11th August, 1893 I hereby certify that Mr. Gandhi, second saloon passenger on board this steamer has travelled from Bombay to Aden, during which time he has had no food prepared by any one on board but his Private cook. Himalaya, 18th August, 1893 This is to certify that Mr. Gandhi embarked on board this ship at Aden Ex Assam the 11th August, 1893 and disembarked at Brindisi on the 18th August, 1893, during which cooked by his own cook, time he only had meals receiving nothing cooked by any of the ship's company. પ્રમાણે. Bombay, 3rd August, 1893 Messrs Thos Cook & Sons, Bombay. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of date. I beg to inform you that a stove has been Placed on board the "Assam" for the use of Mr. Gandhi and friend, and I have written to the commander of the connecting ship at Aden to See that it is kept for their exdusive usc. to I note that they considered Rs. 100/- a high charge, but you will doubtless have explained them that the stove is conveyed at some inconvenience to the ship and has to transhipped at Aden, carried to London and brought back again.
