Dear Sirs,
In reply to your letter of date. I beg to inform you that a stove has been Placed on board the "Assam" for the use of Mr. Gandhi and friend, and I have written to the commander of the connecting ship at Aden to See that it is kept for their exdusive usc.

I note that they considered Rs. 100/- a high charge, but you will doubtless have explained them that the stove is conveyed at some inconvenience to the ship and has to transhipped at Aden, carried to London and brought back again.
