As an adj. it is for antar-gata or simply gata, NB, 54. 2 ; antar-bhūta, ibid., 23. 16 ; with the negative A, as མ་གཏོགས་པ adj.) or མ་གཏོགས་པར (adv.) it conveys the meaning of such words as the following: vinirmukta 'excepting' (Madhyamakakārikā, II. 1); aparyāpanna (575771278pca) ‘not included' (Kāśyapaparivarta, § 135); na anyatra (Ibid, § 98 ; NB, 96. 2, 12); tyaktvā (NB, 176. 4), rte 'excepting' as in the present case ; etc.
