________________ • STORY 23 - SIGNIFICANCE OF SPRINKLING HOLY WATER Once a seth Laksmidhara of Pratisthanapura, a strong votary of kini 1 and Bhaktamara, while proceeding along with his friends in a forest, got surrounded by u.urest fire. It started engulfing them. Soon he started meditating on Bhaktamara. Sensing the devotee's crisis Cakresvari appeared before him, told him to sprinkle water consecrated with the 36th verse. So did the seth and the fire subsided. His friends were wonderstruck. The consecration of water is referred to frequently in jain texts. 'The water' with santimantra be 'sprinkled on head', says Brhat Santi Stotra. • STORY 24 - SIGNIFICANCE TO GET GRACE OF GODDESS • This story pertains to a devout daughter of a seth Mahebhya. She used to recite Bhaktamara regularly with devotion. A certain co-wife plotted to kill her through her husband Karman and sent her a serpent alive in a pot in the pretext of a garland. But due to power of Bhaktamara she took out a garland from the pot. Yes. The serpent got turned into a flower garland making the people hail victory to Jainism. • STORY 25 - SIGNIFICANCE OF INTEGRATION Gunavarman got his kingdom by a devoted Bhaktamara worship. Once he was gheroed by his relative Ranaketu and his army and was put in a cave. Gunavarman was unfazed. He started reciting the 39th verse of Bhaktamara. Though 38th and 39th verses save people from fear of war the statement that Cakresvari appeared before Gunavarman and gave him a boon that he would win the war when he recited the 39th verse, is worthy of notice. That, our revered preceptor Sri Vikramsurisvarji could answer all -5jections in that controversial Madras Caturmasa, before commencing the chorus singing of Bhaktamara at the old Kesarvadi, was essentially due to the power of this verse. While leading the rus our Guru would recite this verse in a high and influential tone. "Faith moves stone" say people. Yes, the worship of this verse will yield unthour . STAY ple for Cakra and Adinacna. • STORY 27 - SIGNIFICANCE OF CURING THE DISEASE Rajahamsa was the son of King Rajasekhara of Ujjain. The King of Managiri, a devout a had a daughter Kalavati and gave her in marriage to Rajahamsa. But he was poisoned by his step-mother. Kalavati, a devout Jain as she was recited Bhaktamara and when she reached the 41 st verse Cakresvari, instructed her the medicine to cure her husband. Not only was he Cined of his disease but became rich too in course of time. Kalavati proclaimed victory to Jainism. The point to be noted here is goddess Cakresvari, instructed her the medicines but not cured him herself. This verse helps the devotees get cured or get at right medicines. • STORY 28 - SIGNIFICANCE OF COUNTING When Jalaluddin was the Badshah at Delhi the Mir of Ajmer, arrested Ranapal and his son and sent them to Delhi. They were imprisoned there. Ranapal was soft by nature. e had immense faith in Namaskara mantra and Bhaktamara. He started meditating on the 42nd verse and completed chanting ten thousand times with such concentrated meditation.
