________________ 332 Aptavani-8 Dadashri: If you know the Atma, you will know the anatma; however, that would be in terms of words. And you cannot know the Atma through that. And that is why we have said: “Mun-vachan-kayani tamaam sangi kriyathi ‘hoo'taddan asang chhu.” “I am completely detached from all jointly associated activity of the mind, speech and body.” All those associated joint activities (sangi kriyas) are the non-Self (anatma). “Mun-vachan-kayana tamaam lepayamaan bhavo thi hoo' sarvathaa nirlep ja chhu.” “Amidst all intents of the mind, speech and body that tend to corrupt and taint, ‘I’ remain eternally untainted.' These intents that tend to taint, which arise in the mind, are all part of the non-Self (anatma). Questioner: Does that mean it is possible to know the non-Self (anatma) and the Atma at the same time? Dadashri: It is not possible to know both at the same time. When we give you this Gnan, everything will separate. But will you not have to know everything as it is? Even now, what is an element (tattva)? They do not even know that, and they say, 'I am the Atma, I am the pure Soul (Shuddhatma).' They also say things like, ‘knowledge-visionconduct (gnan-darshan-charitra)'. But where is the Atma in all that? There is no way of knowing that. Questioner: So should I understand that I do not know anything? Dadashri: That is all: 'I do not know anything', would be considered words of wisdom.
