________________ XXX: MAHAPRATYĀKHYĀNA–PRAKĪRŅAKA Digambara tradition had committed in not accepting the Ardhamāgadhi canonical literature of the Śvetāmbaras, possibly the same is being repeated by the Sthanakavāsī and Terapanthī traditions in not accepting the Prakirnakas. The ill effect of this folly is that these two traditions are being deprived of the study of the wealth of spiritual knowledge that promotes right monastic conduct, penance and renunciation. We should be open minded enough to evaluate the contributions of these works in promoting spiritual development of the aspirant spiritual practitioners. On studying them, if it is felt that they contain useful information, we should be open minded enough to accept them as canonical works and encourage their study and instruction even if they contain some information that is against our (Sthānakavāsī and Terapanthi) traditional belief.
