અગત્યની કહેવતો
સીંડે ચડશો તે ચોર : ચારી કરતાં પકડાય તે જ ચાર ગણાય–Only one who is caught in the act of stealing can be labelled a thief.
જેવી દૃષ્ટિ તેવી સૃષ્ટિ : The world appears as one is predisposed to
look at it.

ઝાઝા હાથ રળિયામણા : વધારે માણસાના સહકારથી કામ ઝડપથી અને સારુ થાય– A work is done quickly and more efficiently by the co-operation of many. [strength. નાઝી કીડીઆ સાપને તાણે : સધબળથી મહાન કાર્યા પાર પડે છે–Union is દામ કરે કામ : પૈસાથી બધું કામ પાર પડે છે-Money can get any work done. દુ:ખનુ` આસડ દહાડા : Time is the greatest healer. દુકાળમાં અધિક માસ : Misfortunes do not come singly. દૂધનો દાઝયો છાશ ફૂંકીને પીએ : એક વાર કડવા અનુભવ થયા પછી ભય ન હોય ત્યાં પણ
ભય દેખાય–One becomes over cautious after an unhappy experience. દોરડી બળે પણ વળ ન છોડે : ગમે તેવા સોંગામાં માણસને અસલ સ્વભાવ બદલાતા નથી–A man's nature does not changein any circumstances. ધીરજનાં ફળ મીઠાં છે : Patience always pays.
લોબીનો કૂતરા નહિ ઘરનો કે નહિ ઘાટનો ઃ અન્ને પક્ષોને ખુરા રાખવા મથનાર
બન્નેને અપ્રિય અને –One who tries to please each of the two opposite parties, loses the goodwill of both. [manlovable to all. નમે તે સૌને ગમે : નમ્રતાવાળા માણસ બધાંને પ્રિય બને છે–Humility makes a નવરા નખોદ વાળે : નવરી માણસ નુકસાન કરે–One who has no work to do, tends to employ himself in any mode of destructive activity.
નહિ મામા કરતાં કહેણો (કહેવા પૂરતો) મામો સારો : શું ન ાય તેના કરતાં

નાચવુ` નહિ ત્યારે આંગણું વાંકું : કામ ન કરવું હેાય તે બહાનાં કાઢે–One who
does not want to do a thing, passes pretexts.
નાદાનની દોસ્તી ને જાનનું જોખમ : મૂખ વ્યક્તિ સાથેની મૈત્રી નુકસાનકારક નીવડે
છે-Friendship with a fool is always dangerous.
પાડાને વાંકે પખાલીને ડામ : એકને વાંકે ખીજાને સન-One commits a crime and another gets the punishment.
